Hey fellow Hollis Woods book readers,

This week I was the connector. I found out that I had many things in common with Hollis Woods.

1.For starters, I realized drawing is a huge part of Hollis Woods life. Drawing is also a huge part of my life. We both express our feeling through our pictures and draw things from our memories so that we never forget any special moments.
2.We both move a lot. The difference is that she moves from home to home hoping to find the perfect family for her. I move with a family I already have because of their work.
3.We both get homesick, but in different ways. I get homesick for my family in the United States, but Hollis feels homesick for her old family that was going to adopt her called the Regans.
4. We are not exactly tom-boys, but we are not girly-girls either. We do not play sports or anything as much as boys do, but we would never wear a dress.

So in more ways then one, we are still very similar. I am sure that the further I get into the book the more I things I will find that both Hollis and I have in common. In my opinion, a book is more fun, and more interesting when I can relate to the character. I could be able to understand her feelings, and maybe even some of her decisions that others may not understand as well. That is one of the reasons I think this is such a good book. I only wish that she didn't repeat herself. I feel like she is too constantly talking about the Regans and that some of the things she says about them are repeated in previous pages or chapters.

But don't get me wrong, it is still a good book.
